OVARIAN CANCER AUSTRALIA

As part of the SANFL’s Good Guys Charity Round, Port Adelaide will sell teal ribbons in support of Ovarian Cancer Australia at the ground on Sunday afternoon. The club will also promote ovarian cancer awareness at its pre-game Mothers’ Day function, which costs just $70 for a two-course meal, dessert, beverage package, grandstand seat and half-time afternoon tea. FINAL SAY

There's plenty on the line for both the Magpies and Double Blues this weekend, most obviously the top rung of the SANFL ladder. 

But there are a handful of notable talking points going into the game, like the fact Port Adelaide hasn't beaten Sturt in the last five encounters between the two clubs.

Throw in the first time former Magpies Kory Beard and Zane Kirkwood have played against the black and white for their new club and there will be plenty of interest this weekend. 

The key for Port Adelaide will be to quell the performance of its two ex-stars and particularly limit the power forward combination of Michael Coad and Matthew Duldig. 

Coad is second on the league's leading goalkicker list and will pose a good challenge - probably for youngster Tom Clurey - on Sunday afternoon. 

Any number of the Magpies' other defensive options could go to Duldig. 

As has been for the past four weeks, clearance wins and brave play will give the Magpies their best chance at winning. 

Simply, it's been that irresistible play that has allowed Port Adelaide to open early leads and resist opposition responses. 

But the Maggies will want to avoid the mid-game lulls it has allowed in its previous three wins against the Eagles, Bloods and Crows - against a top-two side in Sturt, Port Adelaide simply can't allow fate to be tempted. 

What Port Adelaide does have going its way is the number of contributors around the ground.

Last week Karl Amon and Nathan Krakouer added their names to a growing list of consistent performers and were respectively strong in the middle and defence. 

Combined with big utilities Ben Haren and Angus Bruggemann and the Magpies own tall forward combo of Mitch Harvey and John Butcher, there is plenty of talent in key areas to help deliver against the Double Blues' own focal points.
