Port Adelaide supports Ovarian Cancer
Port Adelaide will support Ovarian Cancer Australia as part of the SANFL's Charity Round and World Ovarian Cancer awareness week.
While the Magpies will run out in their traditional black and white guernsey, the club's third colour - teal - will have an increased presence at the ground as the club sells teal ribbons for $2 to support ovarian cancer awareness.
The club will also hold its traditional pre-game function in support of Ovarian Cancer Australia. Tickets are just $70 per person for a two-course luncheon and dessert, beverage package and half time afternoon tea, with proceeds supporting Ovarian Cancer Australia's important work.
Four women are diagnosed with and three die from ovarian cancer each day in Australia, with the five-year survival rate at 43% compared to 89% for breast cancer.
There has been little advance in treatment since the 1970s, so it remains important that both Australian men and women learn the signs and symptoms of the disease.
