NORTH Melbourne is sweating on the fitness of three key players ahead of Saturday night's clash with Port Adelaide at Etihad Stadium.
Daniel Wells (achilles), Scott Thompson (ankle) and Nick Dal Santo (hamstring) are all racing the clock to be fit in time to play in the Round 3 game.
NMFC.com.au reports the outlook on Wells and Thompson is positive for the Roos, while Dal Santo is awaiting the opinion of a specialist.
"Daniel's achilles is clear and he will be managed throughout the week," North Melbourne director of football Geoff Walsh told NMFC.com.au.
"We remain hopeful that he will be available to play this weekend.
"Scott (Thompson) sprained his ankle and we remain hopeful that he will be available.
"Scans have confirmed a hamstring injury for Nick (Dal Santo) and we will seek a specialist's opinion and track his progress this week before determining the timeframe to his recovery."
Meanwhile, Jamie McMillan is expected to be available to play after being a late withdrawal from the Round 2 clash with Brisbane.
