BE you seven years old, or 70, so many Port Adelaide supporters know just who this bloke is.
He's not only a champion of Port Adelaide, but also South Australian and Australian Football.
The name? Ebert, Russell Ebert.
Port Adelaide's 1977 premiership captain is widely regarded as the best footballer in South Australian football, at least in modern times.
Renowned for his supreme work ethic, precision skills, one-handed pick-ups and, of course, the famous 'Russell Ebert Handball', he's one of the true treasures of sport in South Australia.
His tremendous career will be celebrated on Saturday with the unveiling of a statue donated by Adelaide philanthropist Basil Sellers.
The unveiling will take place in the eastern plaza of the Oval (adjacent the East Gate) at 2:45pm.
