PORT ADELAIDE has made a late change to its selected side to play Sydney with Paul Stewart replacing an ill Jackson Trengove.
While paperwork was submitted to confirm an unchanged side 90 minutes prior to the game, it was at that time that the need to replace Trengove was made clear.
The key backman displayed flu-like symptoms and the call was made by the Power's senior coaching panel to make the late change.
"Jackson developed a sickness today, a bit of the flu it seems, we haven't been able to properly diagnose it at this stage," Port's director of coaching Shaun Hart told portadelaidefc.com.au.
"We could certainly tell that he was unfit to play.
"Paul Stewart's got the chance to come and have another crack at AFL footy and while its sad to have lost one of our leadership players, Paul will be able to come in and take his role."
Andrew Moore remains Port Adelaide's substitute.
