PORT ADELAIDE hosts the Western Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night in Round 15 of the Toyota AFL Premiership Season.

Port is coming off a spirited 11-point win over Geelong last weekend, while the Bulldogs narrowly lost to another premiership favourite in Collingwood by nine points.

The Power currently sit seventh on the AFL ladder with a 7-6 record, while the Dogs are 15th with a 5-8 win-loss record.

When the two sides first met in 2018, it was Ken Hinkley’s men who triumphed by 57 points in wet conditions at Adelaide Oval on a Friday night.

The Power set up the victory with a five-goal to zero opening term, before a 12-goal to seven second half stretched the lead.

Charlie Dixon, Robbie Gray and Tom Rockliff all kicked three goals for the home side, while Ed Richards kicked three for the Dogs.

Ollie Wines racked up 35 touches, while Gray (28 disposals) and Rockliff (25) found plenty of the football to go along with their goals.

In the second encounter between the two sides in 2018, it was the Power who made it consecutive victories over the Dogs.

Port were too strong in freezing and windy conditions at Mars Stadium in Ballarat, winning by 44 points.

Dixon booted five majors for the Power, while Wines (26 disposals and seven tackles) and Brad Ebert (20 disposals and 11 tackles) were also influential.

Former Port player Jackson Trengove was the best for Luke Beveridge’s men, racking up 22 touches, 28 hit-outs and kicking two goals.

Jackson Macrae was very good with 36 disposals, while Josh Dunkley had 27 possessions and 12 tackles for the home side.

The two sides have been even across the journey, with the Power holding a narrow 16-13 head-to-head record over the Bulldogs, and a 3-1 record at Adelaide Oval.
