SUPERSTAR Robbie Gray has received a perfect ten votes in the AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year Award after his six-goal performance in Port Adelaide’s thrilling Showdown win over Adelaide.
Gray is the first Power player to earn the maximum ten votes this season.
He tallied 20 touches and five marks to go with his goal scoring heroics and blew the game open with his five-goal third quarter.
Four other Power players received votes from the coaches including Paddy Ryder with six votes, Tom Rockliff (five) and Tom Jonas (four).
Sam Powell-Pepper received one vote after returning to his hard-nut best with 21 disposals, four marks, four clearances and a goal.
Adelaide’s Rory Atkins and Rory Laird each received two votes.
Gray wasn’t alone in receiving the maximum votes from the AFL Coaches with Jack Darling (West Coast Eagles), Nat Fyfe (Fremantle), Jack Macrae (Western Bulldogs) and Ben Ronke (Sydney Swans) also getting ten votes in round eight.
The full marks see Fyfe move into the outright lead, with Melbourne’s Max Gawn and Western Bulldogs midfielder Jack Macrae in joint second position.
