Port Adelaide could enter Sunday’s Balfours Showdown XXXV at AAMI Stadium with a stable team.

No significant injuries were reported from the Power’s nine-point win over Brisbane last weekend with a small cut above Brad Ebert’s eye requiring stitches but keeping him available for selection on Thursday.

Injury Update

Dom Cassisi was substituted from the match at half time as part of his management after returning from a hamstring injury.

But there are a number of candidates knocking down the selection door with good form in the SANFL.

Matt Thomas and Tom Logan remain front-runners whose styles are suited to the heated and high-pressure nature of a Showdown.

SANFL Report

Nathan Blee has put his hand up in recent weeks as part of a strongly performing North Adelaide side, while Aaron Young also had a strong performance for Port’s SANFL team in its narrow win over Glenelg.

Both Jack Hombsch and Lewis Stevenson have been consistent at Sturt and Norwood respectively

So there are at six three in-form candidates who could be considered at the selection table on Thursday night.

Port Adelaide injury list
Brad Ebert – cut above eye (available)
Daniel Stewart – hip (available)
Brett Ebert – hamstring (TBC)
Jarrad Redden – hip (season)

Enemy Lines: Adelaide Crows

The Crows look set to pick their elite midfielder Patrick Dangerfield to play this weekend.

Dangerfield injured his AC joint against Collingwood two weeks ago, but appears to be a likely selection for the Crows.

Ben Rutten is also shaping as a starter in defence for the Crows.

But the Crows have been hit hard by the confirmed omissions of key midfielder Rory Sloane and main forward Josh Jenkins through injury.

Sloane a confirmed out

Shaun McKernan will also have a fitness test ahead of selection on Thursday night.

Replacements for the trio will likely come through the inclusion of Dangerfield, Rutten and Lewis Johnston, who kicked seven goals for North Adelaide in the SANFL last week.
