Travis Boak has all but wedded himself to a lifetime career at Port Adelaide after activating a clause to extend his contract by one year, until the end of 2019
The extension will see him turn 31 by the time his contract expires.
Finishing fourth in the Power’s recent John Cahill Medal count and winning a third consecutive Fos Williams Medal as the club’s best team man, the Port Adelaide skipper is coming off a strong 2015 season.
BLACK, TEAL AND WHITE CHRISTMAS: Three more announcements to come
Boak’s last contract extension was a four-year deal at the end of 2013, in that time he won a second All-Australian selection and finished second in the Power’s 2014 club champion count.
He sees the opportunity to further his career at Alberton as a show of confidence in his ability to play beyond the age of 30.
"Ever since I made the decision to stay at Port Adelaide a few years ago, I thought I'd be a one club player and this is a great vote of confidence in me from the club," Boak told portadelaidefc.com.au.
"While we didn't have the year we wanted, you can tell how hungry the boys out on the track to have a good 2016.
"I love this club and can't wait to get out there in the New Year, and play the footy all of us know we can play."
