IN the lead up to Kane Cornes 300th and final AFL game against Richmond this Sunday, portadelaide.com.au takes a look at who’s in the mix for selection in Round 8 for both sides.

Port Adelaide
Ollie Wines could be a big in for Port Adelaide, with the young midfielder poised to make his return from a wrist injury that has kept him out for four weeks.

The 20 year old will need to pass a fitness test later in the week, with Port Adelaide’s head of high performance Darren Burgess confident Wines has made the appropriate progress in his rehab.

“It’s about the point we’d hoped he’d be available too, so we’re really comfortable with the way he’s gone through this recovery.”

Burgess also confirmed Alipate Carlile will be available this weekend after he missed the Round 7 game with back tightness.

Matt White was subbed out of the Brisbane game, but is expected to play this weekend.

In the SANFL, Sam Gray was judged Peter Jackson Player of the Week after gathering 27 disposals and two goals in the Magpies win. Sam Gray is yet to play an AFL game this season but could add some much needed pace around goals.

Brendon Ah Chee and Paul Stewart also had solid games for the Magpies and will be putting up their hands for a recall into the AFL side.

Richmond
The Tigers are on a high after a five point win over Collingwood in Round 7, but the win was soured with injuries to some key players.

One of their best players so far this season, Shane Edwards, was a late withdrawal with a calf injury and will be in a race against time to be fit for this weekend.

Another important player for the Tigers run, Bachar Houli, was taken off with a shoulder injury, the extent of which is still unknown.

The Tigers VFL side also had a tight game, with some players that were dropped putting forward cases for a recall.

Matt McDonough gathered 30 possessions and kicked three goals, providing much needed run from the midfield to forward avenues.

Nathan Gordon and Sam Lloyd also played strong attacking games, players to be wary of if they get a run on the weekend because of their speed and craftiness around goals.
