PORT ADELAIDE has selected Trent Burgoyne as a father-son rookie at the 2019 NAB AFL Rookie Draft.
The Woodville-West Torrens product joins a rich history of Burgoyne's to represent Port Adelaide.
Trent's father Peter became a two-time premiership player (Magpies 1998; Power 2004) through his 270 total games for the club, while uncle, fellow 2004 premiership star Shaun and grandfather Peter Snr also represented the club.
The 18-year-old is a highly skilled wingman, who can also play across half-forward, where he looks to exploit his blistering outside speed and loves to take the game on with a running bounce.
Burgoyne was hampered by injuries in 2019, but he showed flashes of his potential in 2018, averaging 17.8 disposals per game during in the SANFL Under-18 competition at an impressive 88 per cent efficiency.
The speedy midfielder was able to test at the State combine towards the end of 2019.
The South Australian has impressed recruiters with his clean hands at ground level and neat skills as a line breaker with a high kick ratio and exciting X-factor about him.
