Port Adelaide has only played the Eagles once in the NAB Cup and that was in the 2010 semi-final at Patersons Stadium. There a rampant Power overcame the Eagles with several impressive performances including Cameron Hitchcock leading the scoring with three goals and one supergoal.

The Rules
Rules apply as per round two of the NAB Cup, the modifications include:
Match duration: 4 x 15 minute quarters plus ‘time on’ of up to 7.5 minutes; 6 minute quarter and three quarter time breaks, 20 minute half time break.
Interchange: 3 man bench with 3 substitutes, cap on interchange rotations at a maximum of 20 per quarter. In extreme heat these substitutes will become full-game players as part of a 6 man bench.
Supergoals: Nine points for goals kicked from outside the 50 metre arc
50 metre penalties: Options for a player receiving a fifty metre penalty to space within the attacking fifty metre arc to either take the full penalty, or take a set shot for a nine-point goal fifty metres from goal.
Umpires: Boundary and goal umpires to award holding and high contact free kicks and Umpire coaches are permitted to communicate with on-field umpires.

Crystal Ball
Port Adelaide will take a strong side to Alice Springs and it is there where the club will look to hone its best possible side for the first round of the season.
With the notable exclusions of Angus Monfries, Robbie Gray, Dom Cassisi and Tom Butcher through injury, it will otherwise be the club’s best opportunity to drill a quality lineup against one of this year’s flag fancies in West Coast.
Conditions will soar to thirty-eight degrees during the day and that will take some time to lower when the match starts by 7.00pm (8.00pm in SA) in a true test for both sides.
While the Power will be looking to win the match, higher on its list of priorities this pre-season will be the bedding down of its game style for round one.
