CHAD Wingard’s recent purple patch of form has been rewarded with eight votes in the AFL Coaches Association Votes for Round 11 against Geelong.
Wingard was clearly Port Adelaide’s best player on the night, finishing with 27 disposals, four goals, and one nomination for Mark of the Year.
Coming off a consistent few weeks, Wingard created excitement and opportunities every time he went near the ball, putting his name in the mix for early All-Australian recognition.
Robbie Gray was the only other Port Adelaide player to poll, earning one vote from the coaches.
Gray sits at the top of the Port Adelaide leaderboard on 24 votes, with Wingard’s votes from the weekend moving him into second position, equal with Travis Boak on 21.
Fremantle’s Nathan Fyfe continues to lead the league with 90 votes.
