PORT ADELAIDE has plenty of selection options for its Round 23 clash against Carlton, with a number of players hoping to make a return from injury.

Dom Cassisi heads a long list of players that will undergo assessment this week, with the veteran looking to overcome the hamstring tightness he suffered in the Round 20 loss to Geelong.

Darren Burgess told portadelaidefc.com.au on Monday that Cassisi has been managed over the last two weeks due to his history with injury.

Injury Update

Versatile defender Paul Stewart has found himself in contention for this weekend after fracturing his wrist in Port Adelaide's Round 19 clash against Adelaide.

Midfielder Brad Ebert picked up a minor cork against the Dockers last weekend but should be ready to go come Saturday as will Chad Wingard who subbed off in the game as a precaution.

With finals in two weeks, Port Adelaide selectors seem to be spoiled for choice as a number of SANFL players continue to impress the coaching staff.

Norwood defender Lewis Stevenson put in a best on ground performance on the weekend collecting 28 touches and providing top-class delivery into the forward 50.

SANFL Report

Stevenson has played eight games for the Power this year and if he continues to perform strongly in the SANFL a call-up may not be far away.

Ben Newton was again Port Adelaide’s best AFL player at the Magpies on the weekend.

With 21 touches and two goals, Newton continues to stake his claim for an AFL debut after being named as an emergency for the Power last weekend.

Kreuzer was named to play Essendon last Saturday, but was a late withdrawal after suffering calf problems.

High-flying defender Andrew Walker will also make a return against the Power after overcoming a bout of gastro which sidelined him last weekend.

Heath Scotland and Chris Yarran will both be monitored throughout the week with a good chance of playing, while Brownlow medallist Chris Judd is still another two weeks away.
