Year 12 students take the next step
More than 50 students participating in the Aboriginal Power Cup have participated in a leadership program at Alberton Oval, supported by Santos.
The Santos Aboriginal Leadership Program invites students in Year 12 to Adelaide for two days to focus on completion of Year 12 and the next steps in their career pathway. The program includes sessions on culture and identity, motivation and optimism, goal setting, leadership and creating social change. Students will also hear from UniSA College about the various pathways into tertiary education.
The program has commenced at Alberton Oval and will move into the city for day two. Staff from Santos will facilitate a group tour at the South Australian Art Gallery, while staff from Lend Lease will host students at the developing Adelaide Oval. The tours are designed to highlight the many diverse and rewarding careers in Adelaide.
Students from the program will be supported by SAASTA and Power Community Ltd over coming months to ensure their transition from school to further education, training and employment is as smooth as possible.
Thank you to Santos, Lend Lease, SAASTA and UniSA College for their support – we are kicking goals together.
