Staff at Power Community Ltd - the community development arm of Port Adelaide Football Club - have completed their pre-season and are joining thousands of South Australian school students back at school.

Two significant community programs commenced this week, coinciding with the start of Term 1, 2013.

The Power Community Youth Program - supported by BHP Billiton and the South Australian Government together with regional partner Adelaide Airport Ltd - has AFL footballers and female athletes at Henley Beach Primary School, Blair Athol North B-7 School and Cowandilla Primary School.

Regional trips are also on the agenda with the CYP Program visiting 21 schools on the Yorke Peninsula as part of Port Adelaide’s AFL Community Camp on 18-19 February.

The Aboriginal Power Cup returns for a sixth year and will visit over 300 students at 25 schools in coming weeks. The 2013 Aboriginal Power Cup finals will be played on 25 May prior to Power v Geelong at AAMI Stadium.

Santos and the South Australian Government continue their support as major partners with support from Transfield Services, Beach Energy, UniSA and Maxima.

Additional community programs will commence during Term 1 including Empowering Youth (secondary students), Girl Power (secondary school girls) and a program for new arrivals at selected primary schools.
