Jonas on Port Adelaide’s side for the T20 Bushfire Showdown:

“The Port Adelaide team will be comprised of Travis Boak and Hamish Hartlett who will lead from the front,”

“Then behind those boys are Boyd Woodcock, Tommy Clurey, Kane Farrell, Connor Rozee and Todd Marshall.

“I’m pretty happy with the squad we have compiled and hopefully we will get a few nice selections in the draft next week to boost it.”

Lynch on Adelaide’s side for the Bushfire Showdown:

“Well that’s going to be a tough team to beat, but I think we have the team to do it.

“We’ve got the Crouch brothers who will lead from the front for us. Taylor Walker. Rory Sloane - who I don’t think has ever played a game of cricket but will provide some good fielding for us.

“Paul Seedsman. Brodie Smith. And the big Darcy Fogarty who found his way into the side.

“We will also be looking to get a few more players through the draft, and it’s going o be a super exciting game, so hopefully we can put on a show.

Jonas on players who were unlucky to miss the team:

“There were a few boys who were not very happy about missing out on selection.

“Ryan Burton has been training once every two weeks, but still reckons he’s fit to put the whites on.

“The other one who was pretty stiff was Dan Houston who is a bit of an allrounder. He rates himself with the ball and he’s pretty handy with the bat, so he’s not too happy.

“The other one is Tom Rockliff. He’s a real pest, so if he ever misses out on anything, he wants to let you know about it.

“He feels like he would’ve been great value under the lid.

Jonas on who will provide the best sledging:

“Hamish Hartlett is pretty good on the lip.

“We’ve also brought in a few lesser-known rookies, who can throw a few barbs and potentially get away with it, so that should be a bit of fun.

“I think I still owe Tex (Taylor Walker) a carton from when we played them in the T20 and I wasn’t able to hit him for six.

“Maybe I will double-or-nothing there and see how I go.

Jonas on Port Adelaide’s x-factor player:

“Travis Boak is the x-factor for us.

“If his shoulder comes good, I think he can get the ball up around the mid-130kms he reckons. Whether that happens remains to be seen.

“If not, he will just have to wield the willow.

Jonas on Todd Marshall:

“Toddy (Marshall) reckons he was an underage offie (off-spin bowler) for Australia.

“We are yet to see that. He prefers to bowl mediums, but maybe we will get him in the nets bowling his tweakers and see how he goes.

Jonas on his own cricketing exploits:

“I’m similar to Sloaney (Rory Sloane) - bat at 11 and don’t bowl sort of operator.

“I try to bring a lot of energy in the field. I provide drinks. I’ve got a big car, so I can get plenty of boys the game on time.

“That’s generally my role.

Jonas on Port’s ATCA T20 side:

“We got through the quarter finals last night for the Grange Dolphins.

“We won the flag last year, so we are pretty keen to go back-to-back in the C Grade.

“It’s good fun.

Lynch on Adelaide’s side:

“We haven’t got too many holes in our side.

“And on that, we had a few boys miss out as well - Lachie Murphy and Elliot Himmelberg were probably stiff to miss out.

“They will play pretty important roles. And we will probably ramp up our training sessions from now. The bowlers will be critical for us.

“We have a few good ambassadors for the Crows that are pretty handy with the bat, but we will leave that to a little bit of a mystery.

“The remaining spots for both teams will be filled with some really important people and key figures for this important game.

Lynch on the possibility of good-natured sledging on the field:

“It will be interesting because in a normal Showdown we aren’t as mic’d up.

“But I’m tipping after watching a fair bit of the Big Bash, that most of the guys will be mic’d up during the game.

“We might have to be a little bit careful. They can get heated Showdowns, but they are pretty respectful contest and I’m sure this will be no different.

Darren Chandler (Adelaide Oval General Manager Operations & Commercial) on how the rest of the squads will be filled:

“The interest in the game has been enormous.

“We are absolutely delighted here at Adelaide Oval to be hosting it, and the community has really supported it. We look like having hopefully a really big crowd.

“We spoke about the teams - there are spots to be filled. What we have decided to do is have a draft, so next Wednesday we will be having a draft here.

“Both captains will be responsible for choosing the remaining players in their team.

“There will be four Strikers/Redbacks players selected on each team. A female cricketer from the Scorpions/Strikers WBBL will also play.

“We won’t know final availability until after the BBL minor rounds are finished, but what we do know is the cricketers can’t wait to be involved.
