PORT ADELAIDE is tipped to be the finals bolter in season 2020 according to dual North Melbourne premiership player David King.
King has been on record in the past 12 months as being a big fan of Port Adelaide’s youth, with the Fox Sports commentator expecting an increased output from the Power’s senior players in the club’s 150th anniversary season.
“I like their kids, I really do - they did a lot of heavy lifting last year,” King told SEN Breakfast.
“I’m a massive Connor Rozee fan. I like what they’ve done.
“I just think that their senior core players will get better again this year. Boak had a fantastic year last year. Ollie (Wines) missed a block of the season.”
The 241-game, 145-goal veteran of the Kangaroos said if a couple of results had gone the other way in 2019 then it would’ve been a different story for the team from Alberton.
“They were 0-2 in games decided by under 10 points, that corrects, you get a bit of luck,” King added.
“There were reasons why - in my opinion - they didn’t have the year they wanted, but I’m a fan of what they’ve done.”
King didn’t expect significant change in 2020, in fact, Port Adelaide replacing Essendon was the only difference from last season according to the commentator.
The former Roo predicted last year’s grand finalists would both make the top four, but had West Coast as the minor premiers.
He rounded out the top four with Collingwood, while the other finals spots went to the Western Bulldogs, Brisbane and Geelong.
