HAMISH Hartlett is known to poke a bit of fun at himself, and Monday night’s Brownlow ceremony was no exception.
Pipes kept those of us watching at home in the loop, live tweeting the highs and lows of his evening.
It all began with some low expectations.
Ready to take out my first Chas. A possible four votes should get the job done. Looking forward to a good night ahead. #Brownlow2015

And then, of course, the obligatory full-length couple shot.

@hharts8 your partner is definetly one of best dressed
— Dimi (@DimitraSibonis) September 28, 2015
With hype over partner Lauren’s Jaimie Sortino dress mounting, it was time to put the spotlight back on his own outfit.
I'm wearing the same suit as Bruce. #Brownlow2015

…and it worked.
Hamish Hartlett, @hharts8 is now trending in #Melbourne http://t.co/X4NwPDCyjH

Apparently Lauren shared his low expectations…and sense of humor.
L. Jones "At least we made it on the TV".. Real flat early. #wagquotes

If a woman rocks up to an awards ceremony in the same dress as another woman, it’s a disaster. Not for Hammer.
Also, I think @jackgunston and @BasilZempilas are wearing the same suit as #Bruce and I. #gurus

Good spot Hammer. https://t.co/Fa0eHKlSbP

Halfway through the ceremony and zero votes to his name, things were looking bleak.
This is what it feels like to make up the numbers. #0votes pic.twitter.com/GC5Lnmdvkw

And finally, at the tail end of the ceremony…it happened. Hammer scored three votes for his Round 22 performance v GWS.
I knew I came for a reason. #HHartlett3Votes
