Injury update: Lobbe likely for Hawks
All the latest injury news from Port Adelaide.
Lobbe was a late withdrawal from the Power’s Round 8 victory against Fremantle on Saturday afternoon, but will be back in the mix for selection when the club returns from its Round 9 bye to play Hawthorn in a blockbuster Saturday night fixture at the Adelaide Oval on May 24.
“We weren’t comfortable putting Matt out on the park last Saturday and we’ll continue to monitor him after he returns from the players’ break,” high performance manager Darren Burgess told portadelaidefc.com.au.
“He should be fine to play the Hawks, but we just need to make sure that we’ve ticked all the boxes with him.”
Tom Jonas will also be considered for a return from a groin problem which saw him also miss the Power’s clash with the Dockers.
Port Adelaide only has two AFL players who will be in long-term recovery mode with Sam Colquhoun and Jarrad Redden both out for the season following knee surgery.
Mason Shaw, Sam Russell and Lewis Stevenson are inching closer to their returns, with the long-term injured Shaw set to return from a wrist injury on schedule in Round 8 of the SANFL.
