John Butcher has been rested with a hip complaint and will be replaced by Daniel Stewart who returns to the Power side playing in the forward pocket.

Garry Hocking says that whilst Butcher was disappointed to be ruled out, it provides Stewart with another opportunity to put his hand up as a tall forward/ruck option for the Power side.

"It’s sad for Butch (being ruled out), but the injury has crept up on him over the last few weeks and possibly inhibited his performance a little bit - the speed to be able to get to the ball and put pressure on in the forward line," said Hocking

“It’s really disappointing for him to possibly miss a couple of weeks, we were trying to get him to the bye but we knew there was something going on in the background with him pulling up sore during games.”

“It gives Daniel Stewart an opportunity, having been out of the side, to come back in and be able to give us a contest forward and do the stuff Butch’s been able to do - put pressure on in the forward line.”

Hocking also believes that Jay Schulz needs a similar effort to his expectation-setting seven goal haul against North Melbourne and expects Gold Coast back Matthew Warnock to go to him.

“I think Warnock will go to him (Schulz) as one of their key backs,”

“(Nathan) Bock’s out, (Michael) Coad might come back in but I think Warnock’s got all the skills defensively to shut try Schulzy down.”

Andrew Moore, Tom Logan and Jarrad Redden have been named emergencies.
