PADDY RYDER has been nominated for the Coats Hire Goal of the Year for his cracking finish in Port Adelaide’s 16-point victory over North Melbourne on Friday night.
Ryder floated across the pack and gathered the ball cleanly before getting ball to boot and slotting it from the tightest of angles.
What made the goal even more remarkable was the fact the 2017 All-Australian ruckman was being pushed by North’s Jamie Macmillan but still managed a right-foot snap from the pocket.
Carlton’s David Cuningham and Essendon’s Joe Daniher are also in contention for the week’s best goal.
