EMERGING Port Adelaide midfielder Hamish Hartlett says that the Power’s exciting football will continue this Saturday night against Carlton and is calling on fans to come out to Port’s first night home game of 2012.

Hartlett who has been slowly creeping back into form as a running halfback told PortAdelaideFC.com.au that there is a massive incentive for a big Port Adelaide supporter contingent at AAMI Stadium on Saturday night to counter the traditionally large interstate supporter base of Carlton.

“Obviously we’ve played some pretty exciting footy in the last couple of weeks so hopefully our supporters have started to see that and we get a really good crowd out,” said Hartlett.

“Saturday night footy - it’s a great opportunity for a really good crowd and Carlton have a good supporter base in Adelaide as well so there’s extra incentive to get lots of Power supporters!”

Hartlett says that Port Adelaide has gained confidence from its last two wins and many of the side’s young key players are hitting form.

“We’ve turned things around in the last couple of weeks and tuned things around and started to play some pretty good footy,” he said.

“We’ve certainly gained some confidence over the last couple of weeks and some of our really good players are starting to build into some nice form.

“Guys like Travis Boak with 28 touches and 3 goals on the weekend and Danyle Pearce the last two weeks have been outstanding.

“It’ll be great to have our fans come out and support those guys and younger guys like Matty Broadbent and Ben Jacobs who are taking the next step in their footy.

“We’re in the middle of some exciting times in our development at the moment - everyone’s really positive and we’re feeling confident going into this week.”

Port Adelaide plays Carlton at 7.10pm on Saturday 2 June at AAMI Stadium.
