PLAYERS not selected to play in Saturday night’s Showdown 48 against Adelaide will still get to play against the Crows in a trial game earlier that day.

The game at Adelaide Oval will see the teams play four 20-minute quarters with no time on, and both sides playing 16-per-side.

With only Willem Drew and Tobin Cox unavailable for selection due to injury, the Power side could feature as many as 21 players.

“Given our club is unable to participate at SANFL level this year, it’s important that our non-AFL selected players get the chance to get match practice in wherever possible,” said General Manager – Football, Chris Davies.

“Our entire playing group has worked hard to be ready to play if called upon in Round 2 and beyond, and we will make every effort to facilitate trial games wherever possible to keep our list fit and ready.

“These games will be critical for both preparation and development of our younger players and we thank the Adelaide Oval, AFL and Adelaide Football Club for working together to ensure the game goes ahead on Saturday.”

Saturday’s trial game will not be broadcast or open to spectators.
