Aboriginal Power Cup students prepare for next step
Year 12 students from the Aboriginal Power Cup have returned to Alberton Oval for two days of motivation, leadership and career development activities that will support their completion of SACE.
The Santos Aboriginal Leadership Program is held every August to support students through the final months of their schooling. Students complete leadership modules that are aligned to the Year 12 curriculum and are also exposed to a range of opportunities including University scholarships and application deadlines, traineeships and apprenticeships and other employment pathways.
Sessions are conducted by Power Community Ltd and our community partners including the South Australian Government, the Motor Accident Commission, Transfield Services, UniSA and Defence Force Recruiting. Students are also exposed to team building exercises and spend time with the Power’s fabulous five – Chad Wingard, Jake Neade, Brendon Ah Chee, Jarman Impey and Karl Amon.
Power Community Ltd is the community development arm of Port Adelaide Football Club and we work with the SA Aboriginal Sports Training Academy (SAASTA) and Santos to deliver the program. Thank you to everyone who contributed - we are kicking goals together.
