MATTHEW PRIMUS has been elevated into the AFL's 200 Club after qualification guidelines were updated to recognise contributions of coaches and umpires.

The AFL previously only recognised games partcipated in as a player for the 200 Club.

The change elevates Primus, who coached 47 games for Port Adelaide between 2010 and 2012, into that prestigious group.

Primus also played 137 games for the Power between 1997 and 2005, as well as 20 matches with Fitzroy.

59 former players and coaches have therefore been elevated into the 200 Club as a result of the change, including Port Adelaide's current general manager of football Peter Rohde, who coached the Western Bulldogs in 45 games between 2002 and 2004, in addition to his 163 games at Carlton and Melbourne.
