With 15 SANFL-listed and entire AFL-listed players running out in the famous black and white guernsey this year, Port Adelaide has formulated a number allocation system which seeks to make identification easy for spectators.
Steven Summerton will wear the traditional No. 1 captain's guernsey - a tradition honoured by every captain of the club at state or national level since Vic Johnson in 1928.
Robbie Young (No. 50) and Aseri Raikiwasa (No. 54) will continue to wear their 2013 numbers.
All other players have selected numbers which clash with those also worn by the club's AFL-listed players.
In the event that any of those AFL-listed players play in the Magpies senior side, the usual wearer will don an alternative number to make the identification of players easier for spectators.
That means if Brad Ebert wears his prison bar jumper, Louis Sharrad will wear an alternative number.
The same applies for Jake Johansen (No. 6/Angus Monfries), Angus Bruggemann (No. 9/Robbie Gray), Ben Haren (No. 10/Travis Boak), Danny Butcher (No. 11/John Butcher), Nathan Krakouer (No. 16/Ollie Wines), Ben Sawford (No. 18/Kane Cornes), Henry Slattery (No. 20/Chad Wingard), Sam Gordon (No. 23/Matt Lobbe), Anthony Biemans (No. 29/Jasper Pittard) and Zac Hawkins (No. 42/Tom Jonas).
Travis Boak will wear his old number 10 guernsey in the event he plays for the Magpies, as the No. 1 jumper is reserved for the captain of the Magpies current incumbent.
