PORT ADELAIDE's Power to End Hunger campaign with major charity partner Foodbank continues to go from strength-to-strength with more than $25,000 raised to fight hunger in South Australia so far this year.

And a new part of the 2014 campaign sees club partners Rivergum Homes, Walker Corporation, EnergyAustralia, V.I.P. Home Services, Direct Interiors, Apex Steel, Toop & Toop, Clipsal, Le Cornu and the Roller Door Doctor construct a three-bedroom house at Bluestone, Mount Barker which will be auctioned off with proceeds supporting the Power to End Hunger.

After launching its innovative Can Crusade for the 2014 season in the Power's historic win in the first game at the redeveloped Adelaide Oval and with joint major partner EnergyAustralia contributing $100 to End Hunger every time the club slots a goal, the campaign is now kicking its own six-pointers off the field too.

The campaign raised more than $11 thousand during Showdown XXXVI with the majority raised through Foodbank's can crusaders rattling their big yellow cans at the gates, and almost $15 thousand at the Brisbane win thanks also to PriceWaterhouseCoopers's Kevin Woods winning the pre-game coin toss auction.

But Port Adelaide, and Foodbank, need your help to continue the Can Crusade and energise the Power to End Hunger campaign.

The public - not just Port Adelaide supporters - can help raise money for the campaign by taking a can to your home, workplace or sports club to vital funds which will be used to raise awareness of Foodbank SA, the issue of hunger within the state and support Foodbank's work.

Getting a can is quick and easy - all you need to do is email Raquel at raquela@foodbanksa.com.au, call 8351 1136 or find out more by visiting the Foodbank website

The Power to End Hunger Campaign is a joint initiative between Foodbank and the Port Adelaide Football Club to shine a spotlight on the issue of hunger in South Australia. Port Adelaide has put together a dedicated group of partners to financially support Foodbank SA's programs and to raise the profile of Foodbank by funding the display of the End Hunger logo on the Power’s shorts.

The Power to End Hunger Campaign is proudly supported by Port Adelaide's joint major partner EnergyAustralia and Bendigo Bank, Envestra, Transfield, the Australian Football League, The Advertiser and Channel 7.
