The top-of-the-table Power and Magpies both play on Saturday, but fortunately for true believers, they'll be played within four kilometres of each other. Here are our top XX tips for packing as much Port Adelaide footy into your Saturday.
1. Parking controls: Avoid these bad boys.
There are plenty of parking restrictions north of Adelaide. Don't run the risk of ruining your Saturday of football by parking illegally across any of the restricted parking zones or overstaying your welcome in any of the timed parking areas around Prospect Oval or the Adelaide Oval.
2. Be prepared
With a public sell out for the Power v Hawks match, you'll want to be on your game when the final siren sounds at Prospect. Gates to the Adelaide Oval open at 5:00pm and if you're a general admission member or ticketholder the club advises you arrive early to give yourself the best chance of securing a seat. With that in mind, you'll want to have your skates on, irrespective of whether you're walking, running, riding, bussing, driving or cabbing to the game.
3. Plan your free journey
Catching Adelaide Metro public buses on game days is free for ticket holders and members of Port Adelaide or the Adelaide Oval when you show your valid card or ticket. That means you can travel all day Saturday to the game for free. For those who may catch the bus to Prospect Oval (G10 via Prospect Road or 222, 224 and 228 via Main North Road from the CBD) you'll want to know exactly what times and where your buses are departing after the SANFL game. Our suggestions are below:*
Main North Road - Stop 13 (opposite Willcox Avenue)
AO15 - Every 20 minutes with first bus arriving just after 5:30pm, last bus approximately 6:10pm.*
222/224/228 - Regular services after 4:45pm to Adelaide Oval via Main North Road and O'Connell Street.*
Prospect Road - Stop 11 (next to Kintore Avenue)
AO20 - Limited buses via Prospect Road. First bus approximately 5:57pm.*
G10 - Runs half hourly at approximately 4:45pm, 5:15pm, 5:45pm and so on.*
*these suggestions are approximate, we advise consulting www.adelaidemetro.com.au or calling Adelaide Metro of 1300 311 108 to confirm your journey plan.
3. The
If you live as a Prospect local, you may find the leisurely stroll down Prospect Road through the O'Connell Street eating precinct and past the Cathedral to the game is a physically and visually appealing alternative.
