But captain Travis Boak and 2014 recruit Matt White have been ruled out of the originally selected Power side with injury after failing to train on Friday. 

Boak and Jonas passed tests on Thursday despite missing the Power's main training session on Wednesday morning.

And despite being named in the original Round 12 on Thursday night, the duo will miss against the Saints in line with Port Adelaide's 'no risk' injury policy.

They will be replaced in the selected side by Sam Gray and Ben Newton.

Tom Jonas and Dom Cassisi will return from injury, with Hamish Hartlett to slot back into the midfield following his one-week suspension.

It will be the first time Port Adelaide has come up against its former coaching director Alan Richardson who now helms the Saints.

But while Hinkley acknowledges Richardson will have inside knowledge about the Power, the key for his side is to live its values and play four quarters of competitive football.

“Richo knows our personnel and a little bit about their strengths and weaknesses, and he’ll also appreciate that they’ve got better again since he got the job at St Kilda.

“We know a little bit about the way Richo thinks, but realistically it doesn’t count for much when the game starts.

“When the game starts it will be about what we’re doing on the ground.

“Our weekly focus is about preparing well and getting the game on our terms.

“We want to play to our strengths, be ready if there’s a momentum swing and bring the effort required to perform.”

Stevenson, Russell to play first games

Lewis Stevenson and Sam Russell will play their first games for the Magpies this weekend when the black and white host Central District at Alberton Oval on Sunday.

For Russell it will be his first game in the famous black and white guernsey.

The Magpies have named an extended bench, which includes youngsters Zac Hawkins, Robbie Young and Ben Sawford, as well as former AFL-listed player Nathan Krakouer.

Ben Haren has been named as the Magpies' first ruck following the injury of Brent Renouf, although he will likely be supported by Angus Bruggemann and Mitch Harvey around the ground.

Port Adelaide's League side will host the Bulldogs at 2:10pm on Sunday at Alberton following the Academy match against the Central District reserves at 11:25am.
