PORT Adelaide senior coach Ken Hinkley has two years left on his contract at Alberton, but while he hasn’t yet entered into discussions with the club for an extension, he is keen to finish the job he started in 2013.

Hinkley says he’ll get what he deserves when it comes to contract renewal talks.

“I am here to work for now and I’m going to do my absolute best to make us as good as we possibly can be,” Hinkley told reporters on Thursday.

“And at the end of that time I’m sure whatever will be, will be.’’

Hinkley would be happy to extend his contract if the opportunity is presented to him in the future, but with two years still to run, Hinkley is happy to see the 2014 season out before considering his future with the Power.

“If the club comes to me and says ‘are you excited about being here and want to continue to work with this team?’ my answer will be an absolute yes,” he said.

“I have loved my time at Port Adelaide it has been everything I hoped it would be and right now I still have a lot of work to do to get where we want to be.”
