New Adelaide Oval Footy Express launched
The state government, Adelaide Metro and Port Adelaide are calling all Power supporters to get on board the all-new Adelaide Oval Footy Express in 2014.
Comprising a 32-route bus time table and frequent train and tram services to the Adelaide Railway Station and North Terrace, the new Adelaide Oval Footy Express timetable is a must-have booklet for all Power supporters.

It will provide fast and in most cases direct services to Port Adelaide’s new AFL home ground, ensuring Power supporters are able to embrace every game at the Oval in 2014.
And with parking to be at a premium with only limited Adelaide City Council Upark reserved spaces available to supporters and a small number of limited-period parking options around the venue, the Adelaide Oval Footy Express is set to be the number one transport option utilised by supporters around the city.
With frequent services operating from two hours before the game and between one to two hours after, supporters will look to utilise the free service for the sake of ease and affordability.
Simply by showing a valid Port Adelaide or stadium membership card, or a gameday ticket, passengers can travel on all Adelaide Oval Footy Express or general Adelaide Metro Services on game days.
As a traditional football club, Port Adelaide is fully supporting its supporters to get on board the Adelaide Oval Footy Express.
The club’s general manager of member services Matthew Richardson says the Adelaide Oval Footy Express is the logical transport option for the vast majority of Power supporters in 2014.
“While it was a long journey to Football Park in the past, the fact that all roads lead to the Adelaide Oval this year means a much quicker journey for our supporters,” Richardson told portadelaidefc.com.au.
“The best thing about moving to the Adelaide Oval from a public transport perspective is that we can now utilise the rail and tramlines to give even faster options to our new home ground.
“It’s a free service which you pay for with your ticket or membership, so it makes sense to use it.”
Port Adelaide on track with membership campaign and tram launch
Richardson says the new Adelaide Oval Footy Express will allow supporters to get to the city in time for the club’s exciting new March from the Mall – an army of Port Adelaide supporters marching to the Adelaide Oval before every home game – and generate a real buzz about the city.
“Anyone who has been to the footy in Melbourne will know of the real supporter culture that comes from playing footy in the heart of the city,” Richardson said.
“With the Adelaide Oval Footy Express, we’ll have people walking from all corners of town – be it Rundle Mall, North Terrace, King William Road or over the new Riverbank Bridge – to the stadium.
“We have passionate people and we are really excited about bringing our true Port Adelaide culture into town this year.”
With specialised feeder services in the outer northern [AO27, AO28, AO29] and southern [AO30] suburbs taking locals to the Elizabeth and Noarlunga interchange stations, the journey time for Power supporters in those areas will be significantly reduced.
The O-Bahn to the city’s north eastern suburbs will also be a popular option with only three stops between Modbury and the city.
There are over 6250 parking spaces available at Park n’ Ride interchanges and stations across the Adelaide Metro network, providing another useful option for spectators to get to the game.
While trains will logically complete their journeys at the Adelaide Railway Station and trams at stops along North Terrace, King William Road will be converted into a long bus interchange with services stopping between North Terrace and Victoria Drive.
