PORT Adelaide will host Norwood in the traditional grand final rematch for the 2015 SANFL IGA League season.

The SANFL's new League fixture was released overnight, with Port Adelaide to now have a unique opportunity to commemorate the centenary of the ANZACs at the Adelaide Oval on two consecutive days.

The weekend will get under way with Port Adelaide hosting 2014 premier Norwood under lights at the Oval on Friday 24 April, with the club to then play Hawthorn on ANZAC night the following day.

The match will act as a normal Port Adelaide home game, with full-season or home game Magpies membership holders able to access the game as part of their normal entitlements.

Port Adelaide will have a bye on the opening weekend of the season, which gets under way on Friday 3 April.

The club's first game will be away to South Adelaide at Noarlunga.

Garry Hocking's side will then play four consecutive home games - North Adelaide for a lunchtime game at Alberton, the ANZAC Eve match against the Redlegs, and the the Eagles and Sturt on the first two weekends of May.

It will then travel to Balaklava - about 75 minutes north of the CBD - to play the Adelaide Crows state league team on Sunday 17 May.

The Magpies will host the Crows at Alberton on the AFL bye weekend - setting the scene for another bumper 6,000+ crowd again this year at 2:10pm on Sunday 28 June.

Four away games will then challenge Port Adelaide when it hits the road to play North, Norwood, Woodville-West Torrens and Sturt in a carbon copy of its four-peat of home games earlier in the year.

Glenelg will host Port Adelaide in a Friday night game at the Bay on Friday 14 August before the Magpies play South and West in the final two games of the minor round at Alberton.

The 2015 fixture overview

Round 1 - BYE

Broadcaster: Radio only

Port Adelaide's first game comes after the week one bye. It's the longest road trip for the Magpies straight up and the Panthers having played exceptional AFL-esque football throughout season 2014. Garry Hocking's troops will need to be on their guard, South will be out to make amends after the Magpies clambered all over them in the second half of last season's prelim final.

The Magpies' fourth consecutive game at home is against Sturt - a team it defeated twice in 2014 - and as one of the leading teams of the competition this sizes up as one of Port's biggest Alberton challenges. This also doubles as Multicultural Round.

The Magpies' final home game for the first half of the season is against old rivals Glenelg. Played as part of Womens' Round, this game will carry a little extra significance for Port Adelaide, being the first time it plays Glenelg in the 25th celebration year of its premiership threepeat [1988-1989-1990] two of those coming over the Bays.

More than 6,000 (predominantly Port supporters) turned out to see this game in 2014 and as a standalone Port Adelaide game for the weekend, there's a very good chance a similar turnout will happen again. The Magpies will want to keep the blemishless ledger at Alberton going.

Port starts its streak of four games away from home with this bout against the Roosters at Prospect. The Magpies have been a bit up and down against North in recent times, particularly at Prospect, but last year's strong performance despite two knee injuries was a crucial result in the context of its season. Starting its month on the road well will be important.

Norwood hosts Port Adelaide in the traditional battle of the SANFL heavyweights at The Parade. The home of the Redlegs is one of few places where the Magpies have a longer losing ledger than a winning one, and the reigning premiers play their small ground well. Norwood will be strong again this year and a win here will be critical for Port Adelaide - hopefully not just for bragging rights, but for ladder position as well.

The Eagles are a win up on Port at Woodville Oval and as the season wears down, the traditional finals performer will be keen to win this local derby on home turf. Hocking's men will need to be on top of their game.

Charity Round, and this game against the Double Blues ends the month-long 'road' sequence for Port Adelaide. The Magpies won a tight battle for top spot at Unley last season and given the way Seamus Maloney has recruited over the past few years, there could be a little extra spice in this game between the two old rivals.

Port hosts the Bulldogs at Alberton in its final match before the split round bye. A win, for that reason, at least, will be as important as ever. Interestingly, more than half of the Magpies' losses to Central at Alberton have come in the past decade.
