JAKE Johansen will move to Glenelg for 2015
Debuting with Port Adelaide in Round 1, 2013 at the age of 17, Johansen will join Glenelg after playing 18 league games and kicking 15 goals for the Magpies.
It leaves another vacancy on the club’s senior contracted player list following the retirement of Henry Slattery and the confirmed departures of Ben Haren, Aseri Raikiwasa and Angus Bruggemann.
Port Adelaide Academy coach Mark Clayton says it’s simply another opportunity for one of his players to earn a senior contract.
“We have 60 players in our squad and many have been training really hard right up until our final session this morning,” Clayton told portadelaidefc.com.au on Friday.
“The gaps on the senior contract list are just another opportunity for a good young player to earn his place alongside some of the most talented AFL players and experienced SANFL players like Steven Summerton.
“There are a number of guys who would be capable of making that step up, but we’ll have to wait and see who comes back and trains well in January.”
