Save for the long-term injured Sam Colquhoun, Jarrad Redden and Brent Renouf, Port Adelaide is likely to have 42 players to choose from this weekend.

Jackson Trengove (ankle), Angus Monfries (hip flexor) and Hamish Hartlett (rolled ankle) all trained with the squad on Thursday morning and should be named in the Power's line-up on Thursday night.

Coupled with the likely return of Campbell Heath from LARS surgery via the SANFL, it's great news for Port Adelaide heading into the pointy end of the season.

Carlton, in contrast, could miss the services of David Ellard, Dale Thomas, Brock McLean and Troy Menzel on Friday night, and could be replaced by Andrew McInnes, Kane Lucas, Patrick Cripps and Matthew Watson.

Black and White Friday Night
On 3 October 1914, Port Adelaide defeated Carlton at the Adelaide Oval to be crowned the Champions of Australia for the fourth time.

That game was the last ever Championship of Australia - the format having ceased after the commencement of World War I that same year.

While Port Adelaide won't wear a commemorative replica heritage guernsey against the Blues, the club will run several commemorations of the centenary of that team on the big screen leading up to the likely sell-out and unfurl a giant replica 1914 guernsey banner to be passed through the crowd in the lead-up to the game.

Most importantly, the club is encouraging all supporters to don their black-and-white - whether it's an old prison bar jumper or last year's heritage guernsey, a Maggies scarf or beanie, or just black and white clothes - to show their pride for the club's heritage as part of a sell-out crowd, under lights, in front of a live television broadcast right across the nation.

Members' Recognition Round
Not only is it 1914 commemoration night, Port Adelaide will also use Friday's final home-and-away game at the Oval to say thanks to its members for their support this year.

That's support that has given the crowd its biggest-ever membership figure, a South Australian AFL record attendance and its largest ever single-season crowd attendance.

Unsurprisingly the club is keen to give its true believers a fantastic on and off-field experience on Friday night.

If members can't attend, the club is encouraging to make sure no seat goes unfilled by handing their membership card or ticket to a friend or family member.

Last chance saloon
There's plenty on the line in Round 22.

Carlton are out of the finals race, but it will be keen to avenge their Round 1 loss to the Power in its debut appearance on the redeveloped Adelaide Oval.

For the Power's playing group, it's a simple equation:

Win, and give yourselves the best possible chance of snaring a top four finish.

As a bonus, you'll keep yourself in prime form.

Lose, and you'll likely finish fifth and play a knockout final against any number of teams in the first week of September.

Football can be complex, but it can also be quite simple, and Ken Hinkley and his coaching panel have impressed the need for the team to produce its best four-quarter effort with its A-team on Friday night.

If the Power can churn out its best running game and impact the scoreboard with quality delivery to its fully stocked forward line, it will put itself in the box seat for another win, and that good form running into a crucial match against the flying Dockers.

Standing in the way is one of the competition's in-form sides - Mick Malthouse's Carlton are pushing top four sides and winning games of their own with quality football performances.

It's set to be a cracking game in perfect conditions.
