PORT ADELAIDE is confident captain Travis Boak and second-year midfielder Sam Powell-Pepper will be fit to take on Fremantle in Saturday’s season opener at Adelaide Oval.
Boak has been managing hamstring tightness while Powell-Pepper copped a knock to his left shoulder in the Power’s first JLT Community series game against West Coast in late February.
Both players will be monitored by medical staff throughout the week in a bid to confirm their fitness.
Tom Rockliff has been back in full training for a week and is available for selection.
Jasper Pittard will be sidelined for at least 4 weeks as he recovers from a grade 2 hamstring strain suffered in the Power’s JLT win over Adelaide.
Young midfielders Willem Drew (foot) and Cameron Hewett (shin) have been placed on modified programs and will be unavailable for the start of the season.
