ESSENDON could be without its current leading goal kicker when it hosts Port Adelaide at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Stewart Crameri left the field in the Bombers' Round 14 win over the West Coast Eagles at Patersons Stadium on Friday night with an ankle injury and is a long shot to play for the Dons this weekend.

The Bombers' football operations manager Steve Alessio told essendonfc.com.au Crameri is a long shot to be fit for Sunday's game.

“Stewart has an uphill battle this week to get up for the game,” Football Operations Manager Steve Alessio said.

“If you look after ankles well sometimes they can come good pretty quickly but at the moment he is facing an uphill battle to play Port Adelaide.

“We are hopeful that if all goes well he will get up but he will probably miss.”

Heath Hocking is also unlikely to be available for the Bombers as he continues to recover from a calf strain.

"We will manage that like we do any other soft tissue injury," said Alessio.

Veteran defender Dustin Fletcher is expected to return for the Dons after having his rehabilitation from groin soreness tightly managed.

"We are managing him really conservatively, he is not the youngest guy on the track but Fletch knows how to manage his body," said Alessio.

The injury news from Essendon comes as Port Adelaide confirmed skipper Travis Boak will be fine to play this weekend despite a rolled ankle against Collingwood last Saturday night.

Dom Cassisi is also set to miss for the Power.
