NINE young Power players have used their day off this week to improve their defensive driving skills at the Adelaide International Raceway. Driver Dynamics conducted the program which included a mix of theory and practical driving exercises.

In addition to the Power players, young people from the community were selected to join the day, including Club Member Emma Catalano. Emma responded to an article in the Advertiser and wrote “I believe the opportunity to be part of the safe driving course would be an excellent chance to broaden my knowledge of what is classified as safe driving. I recently failed my P2 Hazard Perception Test and feel that this course is suitable for me to become more aware and highlight the dangers of driving in heavy traffic.”

The activities from the day, including interviews with players and community members, were filmed and will be used in one of the school programs delivered by Power Community Ltd. Empowering Youth encourages students aged 15-17 years to make the right decisions in relation to their health, education and career pathways, and safe driving will be included in the program from next year.

Power Community Ltd and the Port Adelaide Football Club thank Renault for funding this opportunity – we are kicking goals together.
