And he's a dyed-in-the-wool Port Adelaide man.
Orica GreenEDGE rider Stuart O'Grady was presented with a Port Adelaide home guernsey displaying the number 17 by South Australia's tourism and sports minister Leon Bignell while on the Tour.
Advertiser photographer Sarah Reed tweeted images of a cheerful O'Grady donning the club's jumper during yesterday's rest day.
The #17 is symbolic of O'Grady competing in his seventeenth consecutive tour - the equal most of any cyclist in the event's history.
He confirmed plans in June to retire after next year's Tour.
O'Grady grew up in Port Adelaide and is a long-time supporter of the club in both the AFL and SANFL.
He is also a former number one ticket holder of the club.
