CHAD Wingard has been named in AFL Media's under-23 All-Australian team.

Wingard was named on a half-forward flank alongside other young stars of the game like Trent Cotchin, Nat Fyfe, Patrick Dangerfield and Dan Hannebury.

The 20-year-old has been widely tipped to earn All-Australian honours when they are announced in September.

Another young Power star - Ollie Wines - was listed as one of the 'desperately unlucky' ones, who just missed selection in the team.

Wines was named as the Round 1 AFL Rising Star nomination and has enjoyed an outstanding debut season in the black, white and teal.

Brad Ebert and Hamish Hartlett were also desperately unlucky to miss out on selection.

Both turned 23 this year and were eligible for selection, but were overlooked by AFL Media's selection team.

AFL Media's under-23 team was based on form this season and only considered players who were 23 prior to the start of the season (March 22).
