John McCarthy tribute
Port Adelaide and Collingwood Football Clubs will pay special tribute to former player John McCarthy who died tragically in Las Vegas last September. Saturday will mark the first match between McCarthy’s former sides since his death. Players from both teams will wear black arm bands and run through a joint banner. Three of McCarthy’s closest friends from each club – Travis Boak, Brad Ebert and Hamish Hartlett from Port Adelaide and Jarryd Blair, Nathan Brown and Brent Macaffer from Collingwood - will also meet in the centre of the ground, shake hands & toss the coin prior to the start of the game.
Renault give away
The Port Adelaide Football Club, in conjunction with joint major partner Renault, will give away a Renault Megane valued at $25,970 to a randomly selected member at half-time of Saturday’s game.
Ten members barcodes will be automatically generated from the PAFC and AFL member database when they scan their membership on entry into AAMI Stadium.
How to win a Renault
The members will be selected at random times from the moment the gates open through until 4.00pm.
At half-time, behind bay 129, Port Adelaide chairman David Koch and Renault managing director Justin Hocevar will draw a single Renault key from a barrel containing ten keys. Each key in the barrel will be numbered from 1 to 10. Each of the ten finalists will have their name displayed on the AAMI Stadium Superscreen aligned to a number from 1 to 10. The winning member’s number will correspond with the number on the drawn Renault key. 2013 home game ticketed members who are over the age of 18 and attend Saturday’s game are eligible.
The Drive to 40,000+ powered by Renault promotion commenced in April. The simple promise to members was if the club attained 40,000 members for 2013 it would give away a Renault. Port Adelaide’s membership count currently sits at a club record 40,650.
