AFLCA: Boak rockets to the top
Travis Boak has topped the voting from Sunday's win over Brisbane and rocketed to the top of the Power leader board for the AFL Coaches Association Wingman Champion Player award.
Boak polled eight votes from senior coaches Ken Hinkley and Michael Voss for his strong performance in the midfield for Port.
Jay Schulz netted six votes for his hard-edged effort throughout the day, which included a number of courageous acts across the ground.
Hamish Hartlett received five votes for a good return to form where he created opportunities in attack with his damaging long kick.
Kane Cornes (three votes) and Andrew Moore (one) also received the nod for their performances in the middle.
Joel Patfull and Tom Rockliff were the only Lions players to poll votes from the game.
Combined with the absence of any votes to Chad Wingard from the game, Boak's poll sees him overtake the Power's young star at the top of the club's leaderboard in the AFLCA award.
Boak now leads Wingard by three votes.
