Months of hard work on the track will culminate on Friday night as Port Adelaide conducts a trial match between its AFL and SANFL sides at Alberton Oval during its annual Family Night.

It will be the first game in Power colours for recruits Campbell Heath, Angus Monfries, Lewis Stevenson, Oliver Wines, Tom Clurey, Mason Shaw, Sam Colquhoun, Jake Neade, Jack Hombsch, Kane Mitchell and Justin Hoskin.

Jackson Williams, son of premiership-winning coach and club Hall of Famer Stephen, and Will Northeast, son of eight-time premiership hero Paul, will play in their first games in the Magpies senior side alongside a number of other new recruits and players promoted from last year’s centre of excellence program.

The ‘Alberton Brick Road’ will line the perimeter of Alberton as young members and families follow their way around stations en route to the Megastore.

A kick and catch clinic will be held by Power and Magpie players inside the club’s indoor facility at 5.15pm, 6.00pm and 6.45pm in conjunction with a Player photo booth inside the club’s Community Classroom from 5.30pm.

Supporters will also be able to sign up as members in 2013 at the club’s membership marquee next to the northeast pocket of the oval (next to the Community Classroom).

Show your TRUE PASSION in 2013 and join the club as a Member. Joining before February 28 guarantees a held seat for Adelaide Oval next year. Visit weareportadelaide.com.au for more information.

There will be plenty of other activities with facility tours of Power Headquarters face painting and heaps of marquee displays adding to the carnival atmosphere at the club’s spiritual Alberton Oval home.

Of course, the key feature of the day will be the all-Port Adelaide trial match between the club’s AFL and SANFL sides.

Entry is just a gold coin donation to what promises to be a fun-filled night for every Port Adelaide true believer.

Injury update
Port Adelaide ruckman Matthew Lobbe will miss Friday’s intra-club trial game at Alberton after suffering hamstring tightness this week.

The club will take a cautious approach with the 23-year-old, who had enjoyed an outstanding pre-season until this week when he sensed mild discomfort in his leg.

Lobbe missed the start of the 2012 season after undergoing hip surgery and didn’t play the first of his nine AFL games for the year until Round 14.

The year before, he also played his first game in Round 14 after a shoulder setback during pre-season.

Lobbe’s new injury concern is not considered serious, but he will be treated with caution as the NAB Cup approaches.
