DESPITE earmarking himself as a chance to play, Hamish McIntosh is considered unlikely to recover in time from a knee injury to take on the Power.

When quizzed about the status of McIntosh on Wednesday, North Melbourne coach Brad Scott was pessimistic on the chances of the ruckman travelling to AAMI Stadium.

"We think it's probably going to be one to two (weeks), but he thinks he's a good chance this week," Scott said.

"We'll give him every chance but we certainly won't take any risks."

However, with McIntosh still in full recovery mode, a quicker than normal recuperation could see him named in the 22.
