SPEARHEAD Jay Schulz kicked seven goals as a fast-finishing Port Adelaide snatched a two-point AFL victory from North Melbourne on Saturday.

The Power came from 27 points down early in the last quarter to win 14.11 (95) to 14.9 (93) at AAMI Stadium.

Port didn't lead until the final scoring shot of the match - in the 30th minute of the last term when Paul Stewart goaled on the run from 30 metres.

Schulz sparked the late onslaught, booting four goals himself in the final term as the Power dramatically broke a six-game losing streak.

North forward Drew Petrie kicked five goals but stalwart Brent Harvey faces scrutiny for landing a short forearm to the head of Power rookie Chad Wingard in the third quarter.

Port kicked the last five goals of the game for their second win of the season before just 14,508 spectators - the Power's third-lowest home crowd.

The Kangaroos appeared home early in the last term amid Petrie's finishing and standout displays from captain Andrew Swallow (28 disposals) and Daniel Wells (26 possessions).

But Port's five-goal flurry in the final 17 minutes left North's season wobbling at a 3-5 win-loss record.
