YOU now have The Power to End Hunger as part of Port Adelaide’s unique joint major partnership with Australia’s biggest food relief organisation Foodbank.

With the Power proudly wearing the End Hunger message along with the V.I.P. Home Services brand on our guernseys, we are now recruiting partners to join us in the cause of confronting the challenge of hunger in our community.

To that end, we have launched the “Friends of Foodbank” initiative, with our first supporter signing up recently.

Penfold by Office Choice - the club’s official stationery supplier - was on the front foot, excited about being involved in such a great community program.

Owners Grant and Mel Wolters - who took over the business in 2005 - are lifetime Port Adelaide supporters who have been Power Brokers since 2007.

The Woodville residents both work actively within the business, with Grant as the sales manager and Mel as an account manager.

Whilst they are stoked to be the first company to put their hand up to become a Friend of Foodbank, Grant was quick to point out their aim is to continue donating funds to Foodbank, as a part of Penfold by Office Choice’s ongoing expansion.

“We are local Adelaide business and we love supporting South Australian initiatives,” Grant said.

“Whether it be sporting teams or community programs, we do what we can.”

By contributing to The Power To End Hunger, Friends of Foodbank will help the organisation to meet ever-rising demand by profiling the issue and increasing its capacity to source, warehouse and distribute food among hundreds of charities in South Australia.

On the day Penfold by Office Choice signed up, Hamish Hartlett visited Grant and Mel at their Dudley Park offices. The leadership group member presented them with a Power guernsey emblazoned with the bright yellow End Hunger message and the number 1, in honour of them being the very first Friends of Foodbank.

Hamish was taken aback by the couple’s enthusiasm, recognising whilst the players represent the club on the field, it is our many partners who make our club what it is.

Friends of Foodbank is one way you or your business can be involved in The Power to End Hunger.

We’d love to meet with you to discuss how it works, and how you can help.
