PORT Adelaide midfielder Brad Ebert says a positive feeling amongst the club’s playing group has the team confident of ongoing success in the 2012 season.

On the back of the Power’s 48 point win over the Gold Coast, Ebert says the team was determined to get on top of their rivals despite being pushed by the Suns early in the match and credited a straightforward approach for the Power’s third quarter blitz.

“It was really good coming out after half time, they had really pushed us for that first half and we knew we had to make sure we got top in stoppages and in getting the ball moving very smoothly to the forwards to kick goals," said Ebert.

“With Schulzy, my cousin Brett and Westy up forward - they’re all tall players who can mark the ball (except for Brett - he’s a little feller) - and we just need to get it to them.”

After again featuring in Port’s best players, Ebert believes the confidence of two consecutive wins and a good vibe at Power headquarters will go a long way to helping the Power compete strongly against Carlton at AAMI Stadium on Saturday night.

“Confidence is a massive thing and hopefully the boys are starting to get a little bit of it now,” he said.

“The feeling around the club’s been good, the guys are starting to enjoy their footy and hopefully we can keep this momentum going and push Carlton next week.

"We’ve backed ourselves playing against some tight, tough teams and hopefully now we’re starting to get a roll on.

“Carlton are a quality side with a great midfield and across the board they’re starting to get a really strong side so it’s going to be a good challenge but hopefully we can bring that pressure that we brought today and get a win.”

Port Adelaide plays Carlton at AAMI Stadium on Saturday June 2 at 7.10pm.
