It will be the first and only AFL Home & Away match played at Adelaide Oval before the ground is redeveloped into a world class multi-sport stadium.
Port Adelaide President Brett Duncanson called on all Members and supporters to help ensure a full house for the 2.40pm Father’s Day spectacle.
“This game gives us a fantastic glimpse of what promises to be an extraordinary new era for football and the city of Adelaide,” Mr Duncanson said.
“The venue is a long way short of the world class stadium we will eventually have at Adelaide Oval, but the location is exactly as it will be. Come along and experience our great game right in the heart of the city.”
SA Football Executive Commissioner Leigh Whicker encouraged all football supporters to be part of the historic event.
“This game is an exciting milestone for Port Adelaide Football Club and the wider South Australian football community,” Mr Whicker said.
“It is no easy task to move an AFL game to another venue, but this was an opportunity far too good to miss.
“This one-off match is for ALL footy fans - those who remember when the game was played at Adelaide Oval every weekend and those who are looking forward to coming to the redeveloped stadium in the years to come.”
The Port Adelaide Football Club acknowledges the tremendous support and cooperation of the SA Football Commission, the AFL, the Melbourne Football Club, SACA and the Adelaide City Council in making this game possible.
