We covered the history of pick 8 so now it’s onto 9 which Port Adelaide received from Hawthorn through the Shaun Burgoyne trade.
Since 1996 Pick 9 has produced a Premiership Player and two All-Australian efforts - our very own Chad Cornes.
Pick 9 has seen two players represent Australia internationally - Cornes and Essendon’s Mark McVeigh. All together the players picked at this point have reached a combined effort of 508 goals.
Pick 9 has an average of 62 games per player, with Chad Cornes leading the way with 216 games since he was drafted in 1997.
