Westhoff out for up to a month
Scans are expected to reveal a break in Justin Westhoff’s left foot, sidelining the Power forward for at least four weeks
Westhoff’s injury compounded a horrible day for Mark Williams’ team, which was thumped by the West Coast Eagles by 50 points at Subiaco on Sunday.
The 22-year-old landed awkwardly after flying for a mark and Port Adelaide football manager Peter Rohde said it was not as bad as it could have been.
Westhoff will have surgery on the broken foot on Monday night.
“It’s not a bad bone in his foot. It’s not the navicular [bone] or any of those, it’s only one of the little bones, but it’ll need surgery.”
Westhoff’s injury could be a double blow for the Power. Electrifying forward Daniel Motlop was also reported in the clash with the Eagles.
His possible suspension means the Power could potentially be without two of their leading goalkickers for this weekend’s clash with Melbourne.
